Motorola Router Login Guide

Motorola Router and Modems are used by all leading internet and multi-service providers such as Comcast, TWC, CenturyLink, and many other to deliver internet as well as voice service to the client end. Motorola Surfboard a popular and multi-brands service compatible modem used to connect high-speed internet over cox cable. Internet service provider setup and install Motorola Modem and router during the first time but you probably need to access router settings to update wireless name and password. Motorola router login can be either using a LAN port or wireless connectivity.  For Non-WiFi Motorola modem login using Ethernet port from computer or laptop. Motorola router log in required to default login IP address and username password that printed to router sticker. Motorola router settings can be different for each service provider for the same model number usually available on the router sticker.

Login Motorola modem and router is a simple step and a DIY process. You can use a wired or wireless connection to log in to the Motorola modem web interface. If your internet connection is with a non-WiFi modem then just use a LAN port to connect from a PC/Laptop using a LAN cable. Find default login IP address and username password available on router sticker as well as Quick user guide included with the box. However, if you lost a router sticker or user guide and are not sure login IP address for your modem then find below login credential.

You can use username and password combination for each IP address that depends on the service provider using Motorola surfboard cable modem so login settings can vary. Get login settings for your modem and follow the steps to login.

Login Motorola Router Web interface

Once you have got the login IP address and other settings to log in modem just follow the steps to proceed with modem login.

  • Power ON Motorola modem using DC adapter comes with modem.
  • Use WiFi SSID and key to connect from laptop or PC using wireless for WiFi-enabled cable modem router.
  • Use LAN cable from modem LAN port to PC LAN port if Cable modem without WiFi.
  • Make sure your windows/Linux or Mac Network settings are in DHCP mode or use a static IP address from the same series of your Motorola modem login IP address series.
  • Open web browser and access http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.100.1 or http://192.168.1.254 as per your router login IP address.
  • If all goes right you will get a router login page asking for a username and password to authenticate.
  • Use default username “admin” and default password “Motorola” or vise versa. If not working login username password refer to your router default settings details.

Press the login button to access the Motorola dashboard to get all router access.

After success full login to Motorola router if you setting up modem first time you need to get internet settings from the service provider or if you just looking to update the Wireless security key and login password then follow the steps below.

Change Motorola Router Wireless SSID and Password

You can change your wireless SSID name and password to keep protect your network from unauthorized access. Follow steps to update WiFi name and key for Motorola modem.

Go to the Advanced option first.

Wireless- Basic

2.4Ghz  (for dual-band Modem you will gt 2.4GHz and 5Ghz both band wireless settings that should update one by one.

Network Name (SSID)- Moto4BCA (update this SSID to a new SSID name as per your choice you wish to use for your network.

Security Key/ Password- change Motorola default WiFI key with a new WiFi password

Channel– Auto

Bandwidth– 20  or use 20/40 if option available.

Apply Save settings from the button and go to the 5Ghz tab to change SSID and password for the 5Ghz wifi network.

You may disconnect from the modem after updating the Wifi name and password if using a wireless connection to log in to the modem. Use a new WiFi SSID and password to connect again and follow the steps to change Motorola admin login settings.

Change Admin Login Password

After Wireless settings, the next important setting is to update the login password to secure router access from the user connecting to the router.

Status- Security

Username & Password

Username- admin or Motorola (default username )

Current Password- admin or Motorola (use default login password)

New Username- change new username here

New password- create a new login password.

Repeat New password- type new password again.

Press Apply save settings button to save settings.

If you are facing a login error or Motorola login IP not working it may change with any other default IP address or you may be using the wrong IP address or typing mistakes. You can try reset the Motorola login router to restore it into default mode.

Before making modem factory reset make sure you have configuration backup so you can restore after reset.
