  • Take the Powerline Adapter from the box and plug it into the power socket near your Internet modem or Router.
  • Take one Ethernet cable and connect it to the Adapter Ethernet port and other side plug it into the Internet modem/Router LAN port.
  • Now take the Powerline extender unit and plug it into the power socket near the Powerline adapter for configuration purposes.

To pairing the powerline extender unit is simple and similar to setup the range extender using the WPS button. You need just a few minutes to connect the power line adapter to the power line extender unit.

  • Make sure your Powerline adapter and powerline Extender power on before follow this steps.
  • Press Pair button for 1 second in the Powerline Adapter unit that is connected to the Internet modem via LAN cable.
  • Within 2 minutes press the Pair button on the Powerline Extender unit for 1 second.
  • While processing power LED will start blinking and after few seconds it Turns on completely means the setup is completed.
  • Now unplug the powerline extender and relocate in the location where you want to extend the Wi-Fi network.
  • You will get a new SSID name and password as printed on the device label to enjoy an extended wifi range.

How to Check Extender Signal Strength Status?

Signal strength is important to an extended wifi network without dropping wifi speed so you must know when the extender getting poor or excellent signal from the powerline adapter.

If the Powerline Extender blinks red that means its getting poor single from the powerline adapter so you have to move the extender unit more closer to the adapter and make sure its located in an open area that does not obstacle anything between the adapter and extender.

How to change the Default SSID and WIFI password for PowerLine Extender?

You can change the default SSID and password for the powerline extender device from mobile/laptop.

Connect the default SSID using the default Password printed on the sticker from a mobile or laptop.

Open the web browser and access http://tplinkplc.net and login with the default username and password printed on the sticker. Powerline’s default login username and password is “admin”

After login go to “Wireless settings”

Password -change the power line default password here.

Save settings and you will get a new wifi name and password for the powerline extender network.

How to factory Reset the av600 powerline?

If you facing any configuration or connectivity issues with the power line or your power line was configured before but forget the password then you can follow the below steps to factory reset it.

  • Power on the Extender device if it’s not powered ON.
  • Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds and release.
  • Use a pin if there is no reset button in the powerline but a small hole.
  • The extender device will restore to default settings.

If you are able to connect the Powerline but without internet then you need to check if the powerline adapter ethernet cable is connected to modem LAN port and powerline adapter on.
