There are different steps to accessing any device using the default gateway IP address from connection to login device settings and access control panel. Access Router from Web Browser using

Unbox router, cable modem, NVR,DVR, Network switch, or any device you want to access with the default login IP address. And follow the steps to open settings.

  • Power ON Router/Modem with DC Adapter comes with the device.
  • If your router or modem supports WLAN then you can use WIFI SSID and Password to connect from a mobile/Laptop or Desktop.
  • For NON-WLAN devices or Cable modems without WIFI can use a LAN cable from the device’s LAN port to PC/Laptop LAN Port.
  • If you trying to login to the NVR/DVR/Network switch then use Static IP address in your LAN IP settings.
  • Open the web browser and access and use the default username and password as printed on the sticker.
  • Once you login to router settings and can access all control panels then now follow the next steps to change Wireless settings. ip

How to access WiFi Router settings using WiFi and Wired?

Change Wireless SSID & Password

Any Router or modem default Wireless configuration is configured for the first time, so it’s important to change the Default SSID and password.

Go to the Wireless Settings tab from the settings menu to access Wireless Settings.

Wireless- Basic Settings.

Wireless Radio- Enable

SSID Network Name- Change the WIFI name here.

Channel- Auto

Channel Bandwidth- Auto

Wireless Security- WPA/WPA2_PSK_AES

Passphrase– create a strong Password here in combination with alphanumeric and special characters.

Save Settings and you will disconnect from WiFi if using a wireless connection to login settings.

If your router /modem is dual-band or WiFi 6 then you need to change wireless Settings for the 5.8Ghz band also by following the above steps.

After Wireless Settings next step is to change the default admin login password to secure router access from a web browser.

Change Admin Login Password

Go to the Administrator / System or maintenance option which can be different for different brands of routers and modems.

Administrator- Users

Old Password– admin (if you have changed admin already use the same password as you changed before as the old password)

New Password– Create a new password

Confirm password– confirm the new password.

Save settings and your admin password will change and you need to use a newly updated login password for the next time log in. Avoid writing login passwords on the router and keep it safe.


169.254.1 1 IP Address Not working?

If you are unable to access router settings using or taking too long time to respond due to any network or connection issue then you need to follow the troubleshooting steps below.

  • Check if your router or modem powers On with the DC adapter that comes with the device. Avoid using different adapters that may burn or damage the router.
  • If you using a Wireless connection to log in to the router make sure you connect to the same Router that you want to login.
  • For LAN connection cable should be connected to the LAN port so make sure you are not connected to the WAN port.
  • Use proper IP address ie. or and avoid using wrong IP addresses such as https//, 169.254.1.l,, or www. or any other IP address that invalid.
  • If your router not using a DHCP server make sure you using a static IP address on the PC/laptop LAN setting to access
  • If you forget the login password and the login password not working then you can use the reset button to factory restore the default settings and start the configuration from starting.
